So what exactly is eBay eBay is an online marketplace to buy and sell items? Ebay allows its users to list items for sale and other users to bid on these items in online auctions.
So how does eBay work? This is what the main page of eBay looks like. If you click in the search bar, you can type in the name of an item. You’re interested in purchasing to see a list of available items that match that description by default.
Ebay will show you all of the relevant listings near the top of the page. You’ll, also see the options auction and Buy It. Now, if you want to see items you can bid on to try and get a good deal select auction.
This will narrow your search so that you only see items being sold in auctions. If you like one of these items, you can place a bid on it and try to win the auction for each eBay auction. The seller decides a date and time for the auction to end.
You can see how much time is left in the auction right above where the starting bid is listed. If you’re the highest bidder, when the time runs out, you’ll win the auction for some items. You can purchase that at face value rather than bidding on them.
If you want to purchase an item right away, click the Buy It Now option at the top of the search result page. This will narrow your search so that you only see items you can purchase right away. Some sellers will also allow you to make offers on items they have for sale.
